Days of Karol Lipiński in Radzyń Podlaski

For over a quarter of a century, concerts have been organized in Radzyń, under the name Days of Karol Lipiński (2011 – 28th edition). Their beginnings date back to 1984 and are associated with the initiative of the Social Committee for Organization of Days of Karol Lipiński; that initiative is still continued today by the Radzyń Music Society of Karol Lipiński. The purpose of this bottom-up initiative, inspired and vigorously continued by Zygmunt Pietrzak (RTM Chairman of the Board), is to commemorate and popularize the works of an eminent Radzyń resident – musician, violin virtuoso and composer, Karol Lipiński. Every year, the concert series in Radzyń attract crowds of music lovers.

We hosted e.g.: Piotr Anderszewski, Grażyna Brodzińska, Kaja Danczowska, Bogdan Dowlasz, Krzysztof Jakowicz, Wojciech Konikiewicz, Konstanty A. Kulka, Waldemar Malicki, Bogusław Morka, Włodzimierz Nahorny, Maciej Niesiołowski, Janusz Olejniczak; students and graduates of music schools have been visiting us (e.g. Jacek Maksymiuk - graduate of the 1st degree National Music School of Karol Lipiński in Radzyń Podlaski), as well as famous string quartets (Wilanowski, Wistula and Camerata), orchestras (Warsaw Chamber Orchestra, Bydgoszcz Sinfonietta, Lublin Philharmonic), academic choirs, jazz groups and folk bands.

In 2003 with the effort of the Radzyń Music Society, a precursory recording was issued with songs by the great Radzyń resident (Symphony Orchestra of H. Wieniawski in Lublin with solo violinist Dominika Falger; conducted by Piotr Wijatkowski). Due to the effort of the Society an elaboration was released by Andrzej Kotyła, titled "20 years of Days of Karol Lipiński in Radzyń Podlaski" (2004) with supplement (2009). In 2008 a statue of Karol Lipiński designed by Gustaw Hadyna, was placed in front of the western wing of the palace (which is also the seat of the Society).
